Living the Entrepreneurial Dream

Blog post written by Kristin Steele, who recently joined Carolon Capital as U.S. Head of Client Services. Kristin will be working with financial services firms on creating a clear brand image that simply describes who these firms are and what they excel in doing and ensuring that the message resonates throughout their marketing materials, website and social media presence.

Throughout my career in the financial services industry I have been fortunate to work with fantastic teams and people at both large institutional companies as well as smaller specialized firms. Each company has helped me develop my skill set and hone in on where I excel: marketing and client relationship management.

Over the past six months I have contemplated launching my own marketing and investor relations outsourced firm for alternative funds as deep down I know I have the entrepreneurial spirt. But given my expanding family – husband + 4 kids + dog – I decided against losing my sanity and instead join a start-up launched by three talented individuals who have a wealth of experience in financial services and alternative investments.

Joining Carolon is truly a dream come true. Yes, it will be hard work and long hours, but it will also be extremely rewarding. Working with a quickly growing company, especially one that focuses on marketing and branding, will allow me to be creative and innovative. Just what I was hoping to achieve at this stage of my career.
